Southwest 1st Day at LGA a failure

These clowns taxied up and down BRAVO without even talking to ground and crossed onto an active runway all while talking to RAMP.

Their excuse?

"BWI doesn't seem to mind."

I like the SWA guys but sure seems like this pair thought they owned the airport...

They may have done that, but I've sat up front on many SWA flights and have never seen anything like that out of them. Sure they ask for shortcuts in cruise, but so do I. 90% percent of the time I get them. Other than that, they seem to operate just like everyone else. I don't know where all of the "SWA gets it better than us" stuff comes from.:dunno:

SWA DOES get preferential treatment from ATC especially in the terminal area.

No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

I wonder if all these people that bash them ever ask for shortcuts. I wonder if they taxi a little bit faster than everyone else. I wonder, I wonder, I wonder...

Isn't "bash" more of an airline word like "launch" or "announces"?

I remember when I went to airlines.net, the forum was like:

"Branson BASHES Legacy CEO's..."

"Lufthansa LAUNCHES FRA-DXB 5X"

"UAL ANNOUNCES service cutbacks"

Perhaps it's just the jetlag. Well, I'm sure it's happy hour somewhere here in Nice, I'd better scoot. Ciao ciao ciao.

I remember Virgin Americas first day at SFO, one of their A320s stopped on the runway after landing and asked the tower where they were supposed to park. The tower sounded pretty pissed, but since several planes were parked on a ramp by the MX area, he gave that as an option. So they went there, then made a 360 when they realized the passengers may need a way off the plane, and headed for the terminal, which brought them nose to nose with a Citation X. Ultimately about 20 minutes after they landed they pulled into the wrong gate.

Silly.

No yawning about it.

I've been slowed for SWA going to into MHT when he was 15 miles behind me, both below 10k. It's sickening.
And I've been slowed for American, Delta, USAir, Southwest, and every regional.
Please give us a break and save the SWA treatment whine for your crew room.

I have been turned inside of SWA in RDU. I have also had ATC pull them off the LOC in RDU & CMH because they slowed 10-15 out and I was eating them up.

I would guess that that's because RDU controllers--and this is just from jumpseating in quite a bit, we don't come in here--don't really know what they're doing.

I had the same thing going into MHT 2 weeks ago.

LGA is a different animal. If you didnt know the procedures, you would be a little lost.
