What's your plan to pay back for the 90-day program??

We all know that the 90 Day Program is a full commitment upon oneself. But it is also a commitment financially. What is your plan to pay back that whopping 60k + tax?

I plan on paying it back veryyyyy slowly, especially on the first year pay I am receiving!! And, my original principle was just 38k... four years of deferment tacked on a nice 8k more in interest!

But hey, I am living the dream!

I plan on working to pay it back while instructing on the side. My current job allows me to accelerate debt repayment much faster than any flying job would.

I paid for mine in cash when I found out SLM wanted to charge 100,000 in interest payments. Of course, now I'm a pauper but I don't have any student debt.

Thank God for our Grandma's. I'm hoping to keep getting $50 till I'm 30.

My plan is to CFI my brains out, while if I need to continue to work at my current job Office Depot as management.

I plan on not buying anything for a LONG time, eating lots of ramen. CFI on my off time if possible when hired.

Mostly

I wanted to do the Aeronautical Science program at ERAU back from '82-'87. That's the flight program for those who are unfamiliar. My dad said that he wanted my grades to improve. Well, they did...but that was during the second semester of my sophomore year going into my first semester junior year. I was well into the Airport Management degree program by then.

I'm actually planning on coming to ATP with cashier's check in hand. My parents never told me that they wouldn't send me to flight school. Christmas of '06, my father walks up to me and says, "You still wanna go to flight school?" You can imagine the look on my face and the feeling I had....after nearly twenty years.

Re: Sooo...what's your plan to pay back for the 90-day progr

In all honesty, price is the one thing that is killing me right now. I want to get my pilot career going to badly that I would kill. I"m just finishing up paying off my debt and now I'm going to be in it again.

I know that this is what I want, and it has to happen, but I'm still terrified to take out that money. Can anyone calm my nerves? How do so many do it? Is it just your drive to want to be a pilot that nothing will get in your way, much like me?

thats basically gonna be it for me too. i was astounded to find out that the interest was 100,000. paying it over lots of years it makes it slightly more bearable, not much.

Re: Sooo...what's your plan to pay back for the 90-day progr

paying it over lots of years is what makes the interest 100 grand. if you pay it off in 5 years, you pay jack on interest. sell everything you own and work your ass off in three places and it will be worth it.
