What does everyone think of this? Song pilots and Delta pilots are one in the same correct? I was suprised to see this article with all the trouble going on at Delta. I did however love Song, best service I have ever had on an airline.

ATLANTA, April 5, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines is welcoming its fleet of 48 Song Boeing 757s back into the mainline domestic system as it reconfigures the aircraft's interiors and exteriors for this fall's launch of a new two-class, domestic long-haul product. During this transition period, Delta customers will continue to enjoy the convenient flight schedules and nonstop service in all markets previously served by Song with the combined Delta-Song fleet.

``This month, Song aircraft will begin transitioning back into the Delta mainline fleet as we prepare to unveil an innovative, new long-haul service that brings together the best of the Song and Delta brands, products and experiences,'' said Joanne Smith, Delta's vice president of Consumer Marketing and president of Song. ``We want our customers to know that Delta will continue to serve every market previously served by Song.''

During the conversion period, which will last through November, Delta and Song-branded aircraft will continue to fly into and out of markets previously served by Song, including New York's LaGuardia and JFK airports, Boston, Hartford, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, San Francisco, San Juan, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Aruba. In addition, Song-branded aircraft also will serve customers in Atlanta, Cancun, Jacksonville, Miami, Phoenix, Reno and San Jose, Calif.

To invite customers to fly on some of its most popular routes, Delta is offering special low fares for travel between April 19 and July 28, 2006. Tickets must be purchased by April 19.

meaning that Song is being incorporated into Delta and eventually, Song will disappear. the word is that Delta will be taking what was best out of Song and incorporating it into it's Delta flights.

Song isn't back, they're just explaining why people might be on an airplane painted in cool lime green...

Also, gray on gray is hard to read...

Kristie for what I remember there isnt to much to "good" to take from Song. If there was any "good" then Song would have stayed seperate.

I'd comment but I'd be afraid to be served anything other than an unopened can of soda thereafter.

Which is the same bread you can buy at Wal-mart for $2 a loaf right.....haha and they arent that great tasting anyway. Ulitmately its still airline food

Anyone have a cost figure of how much it will take to re-paint those Song 757s back into the regular Delta 757 scheme?

What inept marketing idiot came up with the name "Song" anyway?

Of course, they'll make up for the re-paint cost by asking for even more pilot pay cuts.

If history is a lesson, all of these shootoffs within an airline have closed, and the planes painted back into the regular colors.
Continental Lite: gone, Song: gone, TED: give it time, it'll be gone (back to UAL normal colors).

The guy reponsible for Song is long gone and is waiting to get his pension protection money. He name is Leo something and Paul Matsen also.....
