Some more outstanding journalism (Delta 717 loses cowling)

It feels like it's been ridiculously turbulent the last six or so months.

Like I'll honestly find myself in wonder that I actually was able to get the seat belts sign off

Put your "Saw" mask on and play a game with the seat belt sign?

But the pay is better at FL390! :)

Come join me at 30 AGL in the mountains trying to hold station over a point to affect a rescue off a cliff, on the lee side of the terrain with cap clouds at the top, and you will see what angry winds/turbulence really is and can be. :D

Dewd.

I'm fat.

Lazy.

I don't like bugs.

Afraid of heights.

:)

Sigh...

Did they divert? Did they declare an emergency due to potential structural failure or flight control damage?

That report was about 10 minutes ahead of us, so not sure. All I know it was nasty all around and I was glad we only had one leg left after that :)

Ahh turbulence.

When I was on the 330, I had have a chat with my cohorts that "Level 4" turbulence meant squat to non-Airbus, non-FNWA pilots.

"Well, the 4 corresponds to the button on the ACARS…"

Step outside and smell the theoretical fresh air, bud. Not everyone has this specific ACARS software and everyone is eavesdropping.

AND SHAVE THAT MUSTACHE, THE HAPSBURGS LOST, SON.

And, did the airplane(s) behind them divert, change altitudes, etc.? Known severe, according to our FOM, is "must avoid" territory.
