Raytheon
Co-pilot1
Job Description:

This pilot will act as second in command in turbine aircraft for both domestic and international flight operations. They assist the pilot in command with all tasks related to the assigned flight mission. Once ability has been demonstrated, copilots may be upgraded to act as pilot in command in piston-powered aircraft.

Pilots in the sales demonstration department manage the safe and efficient world-wide operation of company aircraft. They make certain that each passenger has a memorably pleasant flight experience, ensuring their safety, security, comfort and convenience. Demonstration Pilots must be flexible problem solvers, always competent in their ability to offer safe solutions to the challenges that arise while completing their mission. The demonstration department is primarily responsible for conducting pilot and executive sales flights, in new and resale aircraft, aimed at showcasing each aircraft models particular features and benefits. In addition to sales flights, pilots in the demonstration department conduct a majority of the company's executive transportation, customer support, pilot support, media and post-maintenance flights. Demonstration Pilots are often tasked to staff air shows, conduct factory tours, attend or lead customer product presentations and complete other tasks as assigned by their Chief Pilot. They have a very high level of interaction with both internal and external customers and are required to be adept communicators who are tactful and comfortable in this environment.

Demonstration Pilots are responsible for coordinating with scheduling and maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft to be flown are airworthy and released for flight. Once an aircraft is released for a specified mission, all tasks associated with the conduct of that mission are the responsibility of the Demonstration Pilot. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates all flight planning and weather acquisition
- Optimizes aircraft operation to conserve fuel and reduce costs whenever able

Current certificated flight instructors or pilots who have military instructional experience are preferred. Demonstration Pilots must be comfortable and capable of flying both single-pilot and with a second crewmember. Demonstration Pilots must possess a 4-year college degree. They must be willing and able to attend additional company and aircraft training as well as pass FAA and company check-rides when required.

The track schedule overrides weekends and traditional company holidays that are observed by most company employees. Occasionally it is necessary for pilots to move or give up off days to accommodate schedule demands. Simulator training, air shows and international duty assignments often necessitate this schedule flexibility. Demonstration Pilots will not be scheduled for greater than a 3-week international duty assignment and pilots may only fly 6 out of 7 days. While on duty, pilots are "on-call" and must be ready to respond promptly to phone calls and email messages sent from company personnel and/or customers.

Labcorp flys Piper Chieftans, with nearly 30,000 hours of airframe time per airplane. In fact, these airplanes have so much time on them, that the crews are referred to as "test pilots". Piper often calls them up to find out about life limited parts and how they look after 20 or 30 thousand hours. And the heaters are busted, so in the winter flying north, bring a blanket

Not to mention that ALL flying is done at night.

At least that's what I was told when I talked to their Chief.

Not my cup of chowder, but thanks for the listing Slushie. Keep em coming.

The Raytheon job looks pretty interesting. Any idea what they pay??

I think those Raytheon jobs are a good deal if you can stand Wichita! I have seen some successful careers develop out of that job. The candidates usually end up with a type-rating in every Raytheon product that requires a type. I know an individual from UND who instructed for a couple of years, went to Raytheon for 4-5 years, and recently ended up at Fedex last spring. Might be something to consider if you meet the minimums!

The Raytheon Co-pilot job is filled. At least i think it is cause it doesn't find it anymore on their website. All that is left is the PilotI & PilotII positions, which basically are higher mins.
