Yes...that really is Boris's MU-2. I keep trying to track him down (even heard him fly out yesterday) but no luck so far. Daggum freight dogs are elusive.

A few more from yesterday.

Diamond brought one of their Lycoming-powered test DA-42s here for the week.

This one is a better picture, but doesn't show the differences from the Thielert plane as well.

The cockpit is a bit more busy than the single power-lever FADEC aircraft.

A little something for the round-engine crowd.

Competition is fun. So far the only JC'er I've seen flying was kiloalpha, though I heard Boris taxi by yesterday evening. Tough not to hear it with the racket the machine makes.

Nice pics. I'm at the mitsi sometime around 7:15 tonight and tomorrow night if you have time to come over and meet. Back in around 7-7:30 am depending on the breaks, when I'll have more time to hang out, if you're around that early. Let me know.

If there's a crappy old honda cb400 parked in front of hangar 1, I'm around somewhere.

Nice to meet you Roger and (I didn't catch the other guy's screename)! Sorry our schedules are such that I won't get a chance to take you out and show you some of East St. Louis' extremely lively nightlife, but I imagine that in a week y'all can find plenty of trouble on your own. Good luck in the competition.

PS. Remember, no matter what happens, make sure you do something unpleasant to UND or ERAU's personal property. ;)

KiloAlpha and Boris-
Great meeting you guys! Nice to have faces for the names. Also, the other guy goes by dahhcon on here.

PS. KiloAlpha, I finally worked up the gumption to land on 5 today. Easy peasey, almost made bravo. Flaps 40 rules (until an engine goes on strike).

It was good meeting you too! It really is fun putting names to faces.

LOL! Great! I've tried several time to get it during the competition so all the kids would get oh/ah over my great freight dawg expertise but I usually have to wait until they are done flying for the day. Gotta love that short taxi!
