Soaring in Seattle....

Any leads, tips or hints for clubs and whatnot? I've checked the SSA website, but just looking to see if any JCer's glide out that way.

I've flown into Arlington airport several times and see these guys out there pretty often.

I guess there is two different soaring organizations..I think Evergreen is the one I always see.

On a side note, are you familiar with Merritt Island? I lived there for years, and figured you may be being in Rockledge!

That airport has been long gone. There is still para-gliding and hang-gliding off the nearby hill though.

Club is still active at Bergseth (pvt) located outside of Maple Valley. Cascade Soaring at Wenatchee has a few commuting student and private glider pilots from Seattle area on Saturdays for Lessons.

Bergseth is a bit further south, between Black Diamond and Enumclaw.
