HEF, JYO, GAI and VKX all have VERY active flight schools right now and all of them are hurting for instructors. It's a really good time and place to be a CFI in the DC area.
 
There is a provision from the Feds to reimburse businesses affected by their activities for losses incurred. The flight schools should file the paperwork and get mucho pesos...

Not disagreeing with you, though I recall several schools at HEF closed down or moved when the SFRA/ADIZ was new. ATP and Aviation Adventures both spring to mind. The guys who were running JYO did a much better job with the FAA and got a nice carve out of the SFRA than HEF did. Glad things are better in DC these days,

Aviation Adventures is still HQ'd at HEF - I don't know about other schools though...I rarely fly there.

Another TFR announced for the weekend of the 3rd. Gonna be a long 4 years I think. Might consider picking up and moving to PHK.

They should at least chop off the bottom on the inner ring south of Lake Worth road to let people come and go at LNA.

The whole DC SFRA was a Bob H. conspiracy to stamp out the competition and become the largest flight school in the DMV! But seriously, he was pushed out of Potomac I believe in the FRZ and opened up in HEF.
 
This Trump FR is really complicating my operations. Every time I punch in SUA or BCT, the FMS crashes. Airplane won't take off unless I enter PBI and then I have to divert once in the air....
