Basically what I was referring to was the type of flying that's similar to what you can do in your 172.

I dunno, you can do some pretty C172 like things in the RJ some days. Keeping the Express Way Visual in tight at LGA can make for stablaized approaches right at 1000, and even the sound visual into HPN last night was a whole lot of yanking and banking.

Man, I did the Expressway Visual into LGA the other night for the first time........that approach is awesome!

Head 270 from LGA VOR directly over the Empire State Building and then begin a turn to the south over lower Manhatten. Continue turning to the left back towards NDB and follow the expressway.........turn towards the airport over Shea stadium and complete the visual approach to Runway 31..

Wow, I was riding that high for the rest of the night! What a blast. It was great hand flying the approach and greasing it in. Much better than the standard ILS 22 into LGA

The first time I did that approach I was on IOE and my checkairman said that it was like doing turns around a point over Shea Stadium. The more I fly that one, the more I agree with him. It gives you a great visual to shoot for to make the turn.
