So I've been trying to keep quiet about it.

Yup. In the 121 world, you kind of just plug 'n chug and don't take any work home with you.

It's nice on one hand, but will drive the "thinking man" absolutely nuts on the other.

Absolute truth.

Also why I'll stay exactly where I am, thank you very much!

Only airline I could get hired at with my Meth and porn addiction. Thank god to, because I heard we are going to be making sun's back and forth from SoCal to Vegas, and both my dealers live in Vegas!
Send Dr. Phil my résumé when you get the chance.

Congrats man. Best of luck to you.

I've found that "going above and beyond" has the exact same result as doing the bare minimum. No fuel yet and its getting closer to departure time, give 'em one call. After that, well...when they want you to leave, they'll figure it out.

Congratulations on the new adventure.

Keep us all posted. Same as a few others here, I'm considering a similar move for career advancement. A little hard to make the plunge into that payscale though!

My mantra: "It doesn't matter that it makes no sense and that it's going to cost $50 to save $0.25, this is not my airline. Get to the layover hotel and out of this morass as soon as feasible"

First, a big congratulation to MSHUNTER!!

With corporate thinking It's hard not to play armchair QB once in awhile. The old saying, "stepping over dollars to get to dimes" runs through my head often.

Having come from a background in real estate and business sales, I have to remind myself occasionally that, unlike those industries, when the last passenger is off the plane and my stuff is all put away, I can shut my phone off and forget about work until check in time next week. No one ever calls on my day off like they did in the sales industries.

I had a good one yesterday. SAV-IAD. Reroute from ATC that took us to eastern Ohio before turning east towards IAD. That of course meant we needed more fuel. Fueler comes out and our fuel panel for pressure fueling is having issues. It basically just looked like a string of christmas tree lights, many colors blinking away. MX tells us to MEL that, so we have to overwing fuel. We needed 10,000 lbs of gas, which is more than we can take in the wing tanks, overwing fueling the center tank involves maintenance coming out. Did some dispatch magic (changing alternate) and we only need 9,000lbs. Fueler said he's got the tanks as full as he feels comfortable with, and we are only at about 8500 lbs. He comes up with the idea of capping the right tank, turning on manual transfer to the right wing to free up as much room as possible. He gets us to 9,000 lbs, we push, 25 min EDCT. Holding over APE, almost divert to CVG, cleared out of the hold at the last minute, deviate around storms on the way in.

Of course it was the last leg.

Though you know this as you saw it on facebook. Captain missed his commute home.

Hunter,

You need to stop posting, even kidding, about things that could hurt your chances. If you don't think your new employer is reading this you are kidding yourself.

If you're settling on a job you really don't want and pay that's under your standard keep that to yourself.

I'd be asking the mod to delete this thread.

Who wants to go first?
21 It should go without saying no snide remarks about Viking owners current or former. I just deleted a post aimed at a former owner.
