So how'd you meet your spouse?

Well.... My bride and I met over the internet on the AOL chatrooms. I was stationed in Alaska and she was in college at Iowa State. We started out IMing and e-mailing--alot...and 15 months later on my way to Panama for a deployment, I took leave to meet her in Iowa. The rest as they say is history...been married for 6 years and about half of that we've been separated by deployments and my 2 year tour in Korea. I couldn't have been more lucky to have a beautiful, understanding, and caring woman in my life. And she puts up with the airplane stuff too ;-) Thanks baby!

I had moved to DEN from STL to work on my CFI and my best friend had found a place to live near downtown off of craigslist. She was my neighbor's/best friend's roommate's best friend (yeah! try to sort that one out...) from UCLA. She had come to Denver to hang out for a couple of days and we totally hit it off. I never believed in love at first sight before but I walked in and she was still in her PJs...if that's what you would call them. Short-shorts, white hoodie, and UGG boots!!!! She is sooooo SoCal and I was just floored. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my entire life and she still is. We went out to a party and we had been flirting for a couple of hours and I decided that if I didn't make my move, my life would forever wallow in obscurity and unhappiness. I was making a phone call for my friends to find this party and I stepped into the laundry room for a little silence. She happened to walk by and I said "Psssttt....come here. I want to talk to you for a minute," and I just totally laid one on her. Long story short, I was working for Lakes at the time on the ramp and had travel benefits....so I spent a lot of time on Frontier back and forth to LAX. I ended up moving out there and taking a flight instructing job about two weeks after I got my CFI and I spent most of my time there commuting back and forth on the 405 during rush hour. We broke up on the 4th of July because she didn't think I was ready to be in an adult relationship and I took my job out here in Hawai'i. I heard about two months later that she was engaged to her ex. I have spent the last five months of my life broken hearted and thinking that I could never be happy again. I've also done a lot of growing up.

November 10th - 1:13 a.m. One year and five days after I met her, she called me to apologize. The engagement ended very shortly after it started and mostly because he never changed. We have been talking about her moving out here in a couple of months and hanging out while I get my time together and can interview somewhere back on the mainland. I love this woman more than life itself and I cannot imagine ever being happy without her. I know it seems like everything is moving so fast but I know I have to have her around. I never wanted children before I met her and I am so ready to have an entire litter if she is willing to marry me.

The family (father and two sons) that run this company used to be clients of mind at the bank. Nicest people in the world you'd never guess meeting them that they run a mail-order bride business.

I almost married his (ex)wife's sister if that is who I think it is. I haven't seen him or his family in a long time.

I met a couple of the Russian women once. They were every bit as gorgeous as their pictures but I didn't find them particularly friendly.

We met in college through mutual friends. A group of us went to dinner together at the Student Center, and we sat next to each other. This wasn't a setup. I was trying to flirt with another girl who was eating with us. My wife, sitting next to me kept trying to engage in conversation since we shared majors, etc. and I kept blowing her off because I was interested in someone else.

Well, she became pretty ticked off and made a point of being exceptionally rude to me whenver we ran into each other. Well, the constant attention, albeit negative, worked.

It was a good thing. The other girl I was interested in and trying to flirt with ended up dropping out of school after contracting a STD.

I'd like to be the first to meet my wife through Jet Careers. So PM me with any leads of cute woman that want to marry a future pilot.

I met my wife after transferring colleges to start flight training. We met in the dorms and hung out a lot. We didn't start dating until we had both moved out of the dorms. The rest is history as we have been married 3+ years with a 18th month old daughter.

3 years of Electrical Engineering 10,000
3 years of flight training 40,000
tranferring colleges and meeting the woman of your dreams: PRICELESS

We met when I was in HS, I was 15, he was already graduated and was 18. He had a friend that looks like Jack Black, so we'll call him Jack, his friend THOUGHT that I liked him, so he told Corbin "this hot girl at school totally likes me" and Corbin was like "no way does a hot girl like you, so she's either not hot or doesn't like you". So Jack invited me and a friend to watch a movie at his house, so he could prove his claim, and I had no idea about any of this. I just went over and watched the movie and went home. Then Corbin started showing up at my house to hang out, I wasn't to "dating age" really, so it was just a lot of "hanging out". After a few months he told me he didn't want me to "hang out" with any other boys and I said "ok". Right after that, my family moved to FL, and I stayed in UT, so he was pretty much all I had since then, we got married about 5 years later on 09-09-99. Sometimes he's the only person in the world that "gets" me. Cause I can be a little weird. Or see things in a way that no one else does. Or have a saracastic sense of humor. But he always gets it. I don't really believe in soul mates or anything, but I do think he's a good soul-match. :) (And no, I didn't like his friend, other than as a friend, and I didn't even know that was going on, and "hot" is HIS word, not mine, so don't call me arrogant!)

I sense a military brat :-P. I went to middle and high school down on Bad Aibling Station.
Cool!

I did some years in elementary school in Ansbach, 2 years of HS in Nurnberg, and 1 year in Heidelburg. Loved every minute of it.

Your husbands name is "Corbin?" That's awesome - don't meet to many guys with that name. If I ever have a kid I'll name him Corbin. (And certainly NOT Chris Jr.)

(And certainly NOT Chris Jr.)
:cwm27: I like Corbin's name too, I think I've probably only met 1 other Corbin and I don't know why cause I think it's a great name, not weird or spelled funny or something. I would have named my son Corbin too, but I'm not into "jr's" (causes problems with phone calls and credit reports!) but if I didn't marry a Corbin I would have named my son that. Caleb (my son) used to be pretty uncommon too, but now there are a lot of them. And I had never heard the name Kyla when I named my daughter that, but now we have a neighbor w/ that name, and I've seen it on the internet 3 times.

come on now, self esteem needs a boost. its ok to say you are hot. it doesnt make you a bad person.:)

Well last time I mentioned something along the lines of "I'm not ugly" someone said I was full of myself, so I was just making sure you all knew I wasn't bragging, just stating the facts as they happened.

<--- That's her! :)

Glad to see we're not alone in the internet brigade. eHarmony.com, no fooling. I was a few months off a messy breakup and more recently off a short-lived try at something with a girl I met at a poker game. Seemed like something different, so I gave it a shot. Staci was in TX, getting ready to move to NC, and did the "personality profile" because she had insomnia one night. I guess she decided I was worth the $50.

Our first date was June 3, 2005, at a street festival in Charlotte. She brought two friends as a "safety net", but promptly ditched them! (A good sign, I thought.) We had dinner, walked and talked, and eventually I screwed up the nerve to kiss her. As soon as I did, Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" started blaring from a nearby tent! We laugh about that to this day.

Six months and a day later, I popped the question in front of my Christmas tree. This past August, we got married, and I wouldn't trade married life (or my married wife!) for anything in this world. Don't know how I lucked in to this, but I'm not complaining.

January 28th, 1976 Arizona State University 3:35pm.

Walking out of my final class for the day - Quantitative Business Analysis - I saw her walking down the college mall enroute to her dorm wearing the cutest shorts and blue suede shoes. . .damn near broke my neck to get close enough to her to say hello, then forgot what the heck I was going to say. She was coming from a physics class. Stunning she was. Looks and brains. Oh my, I knew I'd hit the jackpot!

Married her in Oct 1977 and been "kicking it together" ever since. Love the cliche' about the fine wine, for she has gotten better with age.

i used to fly out to uofa and asu when i was a senior in high school. southwest had the great deals then. man that was some awesome scenery! good story.:)

This was an actual poll in USA TODAY for dec 8th. I know because the captain I was flying with asked me this question while we were flying to....................
I mean waiting on MX to show up, on the ground, no pax on board, freezing........ since we aren't allowed to read the paper up front, lol
