WOW!!! congrats to you and nona, Howard!! 5 yrs is always a good milestone!!

Thanks Kristie. Though Nona was very impressed and thought Doug was sweet for carrying your wedding picture in his pilot's cap. He showed it to us on one of our "run ins" in ATL.

We met on match.com. He proposed on our first anniversary and we're getting married in 2 weeks on our 2nd.

I found him, then morgaged my house to he could go to flight school (it was my idea and I've taken enough #### for doing it already, thank you).

He'll be paying this sugar mama back for the rest of his life. That's love right there!

Met my wife because of a UAL pilot strike!

Went to my brother's college after I graduated and couldn't get home because of the strike and met her at a student government function. Enrolled at that college in the fall for another degree. Talked some and she asked me over for pizza one night. First date was TOP GUN (I actually delayed going home at Christmas break to take her). Got married about 1.5 years later......

Shift ahead 18 years.... now 2 boys, 10 and 2.5. Lived in 6 states....not sure why she is still with me.

I used to hang around with a large group of friends back in my Paralegal days. Two of them hooked up and got hitched (one guy one girl ;) ).

I went to the wedding stag as I had decided that, at 35, I was destined to be a life-long bachelor and I just wanted to have fun at the reception.

At the ceremony, I see this absolutely GORGEOUS girl....with her mother...so I think she's with somebody in the wedding party, and temporarily forget about it.

Get to the reception and I notice she's not with anyone.

About half-way through the party, the father of the bride comes up to me and we have the following exchange:

Him: see that girl over there?

Me: Yup.

Him: Well hands off!

Me: Oooookaaaayyy.

Him: I'm kidding. I invited her here tonight to meet Dan (his son), but Dan's being an • (his ex-girlfriend was in the wedding party also), so I was wondering if you'd ask her to dance.

Me: Way ahead of ya chief.

I ask her to dance. We end up chatting the rest of the evening. I get the digits. Our first date is the following weekend....on my birthday...and we marry 2 years later.

Oh...and our first son is named Brendan.... no Chris, Jr. around these parts. ;)

This is a great post, shows that among the many posts of divorce and seperation, people can still find a souldmate who will support them in this buisness. Bravo. :nana2:

She was a good friend of my older sister in High School. I worked alot outside of school so I didn't really see anyone that much besides my coworkers. Well it just happened that I had a particular day off and she was hanging out with my sister at our house. She punched me in the arm and said, "hey, who are you. I've never seen you around here!" I was lovestruck! We became good friends and spent most of our time together for the next two years. Then, in my senior year of high school (I had liked her for two years now) I worked up the courage to ask her out and the rest is history. We didn't go to the same college so the next 3 years of our lives was long-distance, including one year in which she lived in Kiev, Ukraine. She came home in April '05 (I was just finishing up my junior year of college) and I proposed. We married three months after that and have now been married for 1 year and 4 months and lovin every day. No kids as of today...

We met in high school. We actually went to rival high schools, but met through a mutual friend. We really hit it off, but he didn't call me for 6 months. Finally I called him to see if he wanted to go to post-prom (A school sponsored after party), since I had a huge track meet during prom. He said yes. He proposed after high school when we were suppossed to be going to school 1 hour apart. I said yes, but then I transferred so that I was 3 hours away. He was competing on flying team and working and I played soccer and was working, so we saw eachother every 5 or 6 weeks for a weekend. After 5 years of dating we got married in 05. He is not flight instructing and I am teaching middle schoolers, so we don't have any kids. I tell my students that it will take awhile since I have to get used to having 100+ at work everyday.

Just looking for a girl to get pregnant so her father would make me marry her so I could get my greencard - really easy in this country.
