So Du Page got shut down...

Fun fact: The Chinook can hold 1068 gallons of fuel. It can also carry three extended range tanks holding an extra 800 gallons each.

We had a set of 2 fly in once with 6 apaches. The chinooks had the FARP tanks in them. All of that about drained our stock that day.

One time a chinook flew in around 10pm all blacked out. No landing lights, Nav's, beacon..etc. We have some decent ramp flood lights so we could see the chopper ok but we were wondering what was up because of the lights? The chopper shuts down and we ask and the crew was practicing night drills with NVG's. They also let me and the other line guy try on the NVG's. Gave us a tour of the chinook and had said it was basically a year old. Had full glass cockpit and the works...turned out it was a MH-47 from the 160th SOAR. Those guys told us a few interesting stories and then took off back into the night. One of the coolest choppers and military crews I have ever met.

Spending time in states close to the border makes the plane suspicious anyways cause it's close to the border. No doubt had to be drugs. Here in AZ the military helicopters are everywhere.
