So Can I Get An Overview of This Place

Hey I'm just wondering how this place really works. Right now I am Comm SEL and MEL Intrument so I don't need any ratings, would this place still be good for me just to time build? I live in Orlando so I'm close by but from what it sounds like all flying is with multiple pilots on board and all is done at night, is that correct? Is that due to the planes flying during the day used only for training? Just wondering any info would be great.

If you need multi-time....then yes, you can still benefit by time-building at the Aviator. Yes, 95% of time-building is done between 1800 - 0600 and it will be w/ another pilot who is trying to do the same.....build multi-time. It's pilot/ safety pilot. Typically, day time flying is reserved for training flights; however, it is not uncommon for time-builders to get some daytime flying on the weekend. It really depends on what the training schedule looks like.

Alright well that all sounds good but how does it work beyond that. Once you get set up with another pilot where can you go, I mean if your flying 8 hours a night you should be able to all over the southeast. Also who chooses where you go I mean at air orlando i go where and when i want to go does it work that way there too or is someone else in charge of where you go.

You can go wherever you want. However, you're only reimbursed for something like a dollar fifty a gallon. So it might be in your interest to stick close to home. The range on the dutchess is about 5 hours at 18" 2100. That will give you a TAS of like 110 or 120 depending on the plane. However, I amended my personal minimums to about 4 hours after having some planes burn more fuel than others. You can easily hit key west and back, or Tallahasee (though that may be pushing it depending on the plane). Some guys made it up to hilton head and back, how I'm not sure. If you talk to management they'll probably let you take the plane for a couple of days if you want to head out somewhere else. The key to this program is it's time building, most people want to get as much time as soon as possible.
