Hey that's a good idea! And yeah I'd say nerves had a bit to do with it because I never had any problems durring my training, plus the check pilots I've had recently are somewhat more intimadating than the ones I've had before.

Yeah it was another instructor learning to be a mock check pilot. They're getting regular instructors to do the mocks now to help take the workload off the actual check pilots, also it's a job that doesn't require signing a work contract unlike a 3 stripe check pilot so it's more apealing to some.
