so last Wednesday someone writes graffiti on 2nd and 3rd floor BOTH WINGS!!! they were soo fast nobody heared or saw anything, even a friend of mine out talking to his g/f I heared him went back in to hsi room and 10 minutes later if not less graffiti all over our walls, so I went out to talk with my wingmates, and 1 minute later fire alarm is pulled at 130am. To add to that someone in my floo left there door open and had his bed, homework, and walls written on.....gotta give em credit for speed.... so our common damage is around 17 bucks per person if not more...

Yeah like in Los Angeles - a lot of that stuff is so well done...pretty amazing artists who deserve more credit than they get...hopefully as long as they do it legally, which is the case in some designated street art areas in Watts, CA.

there was a coffee shop in austin which had a sanctioned art wall... always really cool stuff up there!

ive seen some INCREDIBLE stuff roll through on the trains here, though i cant condone vandalism....jeeeez the art was amazing. complete top to bottom murals....way cool.

Yeah the trains bring amazing art sometimes to this ugly place, but they go as they come.

Meanwhile grand forks graffiti, haha I would say it is a bunch of 3rd year old drawing with a bunch of overspray drips. Better yet the construction line markings on the road. Reminds me, summer I'm sure they are gonna be at construction again at some useless thing.

haha yeah - they're always reconstructing the roads here because they can't get it right the first time.

Why do you think that? Are you some sort of civil engineer now? You're statement is ridiculous and totally false. Unlike your beloved southern CA, ND is subject to freezing and thawing. Water gets trapped in the cracks in the roads and when it freezes it expands and further cracks the roads leading to bumps, potholes, etc. Naturally this is a harsher environment for road wear because of this. Read up on some cold weather engineering if you don't believe me. :whatever:

imagine that...he's actually right - for once...hehhee *just kidding man*

altho i do have to admit that Jace is also right in that sometimes, they just don't design it or construct it right which requires re-work.

Maaaan......these people take about a year to repair a small amount of potholes. They're not efficient, yar you betcha.
 
:yeahthat: And it's called asphalt a non porous method! Some places just use better thought, faster operation. I personally say it is that the government has allocated funds for random construction. I'm sorry but I've seen highways and buildings constructed much faster than things in Grand Forks. People here are just SLOW.

Yeah that's very true. I bet that Canadinn hotel and water park will take 5 years to build (why the heck would you build a water park when it's only warm enough 1 month out of the year?! another dumb city planning idea)

You know, it was always the case with freeways in California being constructed in just a few weeks... you figure ND would bring CalTrans over to come do the work and get it done in 1/10th of the time it takes for North Dakotans to do it. But oh jees, donchya know we only make $5 an hour here and are on Meth most of the time so therefore much more innefficient.

On a side note, CalTrans workers make so much money (for such a blue collar job)... $20-30 an hour because they're unionized. I think that's why they work so hard is because they actually have incentive!

Oh man, I'm gonna get so hammered by Caffeine and StuckinGFK for saying this. Bring it on and try to deny the truth!! Come on, you know your lovely state is a piece of crap. *half-:sarcasm:*
 
Hehe, I'd have to agree with the snails pace construction methods up here. I cant believe it took that damn long to build up Columbia avenue over there by 32nd. Hell, I thought my city was pretty bad. My town built a 2 billion(million?) dollar sky bridge that goes nowhere. Go figure that. It didnt take them more than a month to actually build it though. They widened 4 miles of road in 2 months. That includes moving utilities and telephone poles. This, from a city with probably the worse planners I've ever seen with debt that is just out of this world. So bad, that we had to find another lender.

There's no excuse for the crap they pull up here at all.

Yar, you betcha...but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be an indoors water park like that at Thief River, in which case it would be cool.
