Small plane crash lands on I-10 by Baton Rouge

@cmill worked there back in the day. I applied there in '08 and never heard anything. Seemed like it would've been a fun place to work and get some seaplane time.

So apparently during the annual the mechanic installed a quick drain oil valve. Unfortunately didn’t use the low profile one for retracts, gear went up, oil came out.
Thats a bad day for a mechanic... There's an AD for that I think, and a placard on the engine mount.

Hopefully that mechanic has insurance. Sounds like he is going to be getting a bill.

Lol I mean as opposed to knowing it’s broke right away. Guess it was just a small fracture

Sometimes shock or adrenaline will mask a fracture. Sometimes a fracture isn't painful at the moment of fracture, but floridly painful later. Sometimes of course a fracture is terribly painful right away and also have noise cues (bone snapping) available. I've experienced all at different times. (30+ broken bone club here).

I have had one broken bone and it was suuuuper obvious haha.... We're not talking a little fracture though.

I had a situation where I broke my leg, pelvis in two places, all my ribs on the left, collarbone, and scapula (shoulder blade). The ribs were complex and punctured and collapsed the lung. I awoke in the car and was pinned, but not paralyzed as I could move fingers/toes, etc. I was pinned for 45 minutes while they worked on the car and was awake for much of it. I had no pain, but noticed a shortness of breath and was extremely hot. I was still thinking I'd be home that night. I didn't really feel anything...until it was time to lift me out of the car and onto the stretcher. This was intense pain. Next thing I know I woke up on the stretcher and they wheeled me across highway 13 and I saw rotor-blades and that is when I knew I wouldn't be home for date-night.
