Slam Click Excuse?

What's a nice way to tell someone you don't want to go out with them on an overnight without sounding mean or weird.

The only excuse I would accept.

Until you're with the overzealous, "I wanna be friends with everyone", newbie FA that offers to pay when really she's the one that's too broke to go out. I've had a lot of CAs not accept that excuse either. Then you end up going out and feeling bad that they're paying when you really want nothing to do with them at all.

Say you've made plans with a buddy in town. Or say the truth. I don't get offended when others tell me they just want to do nothing.

what if you just don't want to go out? Lying is worse.

I usually don't lie. I usually just say "Nah, I'm gonna stay in tonight." If they ask why I just say because I don't wanna do anything. Most people don't really seem to push it where I work.

She has a boyfriend.

More than likely she doesn't have a boyfriend.... and there's a reason.

"I'm tired, feel like laying low tonight."

I go out if I feel like it, and don't go if I don't feel like. Helps that I usually bring food on overnights, therefore don't need to go out for sustenance.

If you feel like staying in the whole trip, that's just how it goes....or out all three nights sometimes...some trips are better than others

If I want to stay in for any reason whatsoever I just say so.

I usually am game to go out for dinner with the crew, or if we're somewhere good with a nice long layover, I'll be happy to hang out with them and do whatever touristy thing it might be in that city.

But by no means do I feel obligated to not slam-click.

Lots of people have stuff they can get done at the hotel room.
- Personal finance/paying the monthly bills online
- Reading
- Something related to another source of income if applicable
- Yoga in the room or workout in the fitness room
- Nap
- Think about what their next JC forum signature/avatar will be
- etc.

There need not be a reason to justify staying in to a co-worker.

Even more so if you have a sneaking suspicion that your dinner is going to be spent listening to how it's BS that the system denied them a trip trade for next week, or it sucks that we have a four hour sit tomorrow, or blah blah blah.

But it's great to go out and chat with the folks that don't talk shop the entire time!
