Slack from the wife

HH I say get drunk togethor, it works for us. Also my gf has a higher tolerance than me so I let her drive home. ;)

I honestly cant stand when pilots cant separate business and pleasure time and have to talk about damn airplanes all the time. Its one thing if im here on the board and i choose to put my off time in the realm of aviation but there are too many people and pilots out there that can not and will not talk about anything other than airplanes. Its sad really

"A pilot is a confused soul who talks about women when he's flying and about flying when he's with a woman."

Not sure who said it, but "Slipping the Surely Bonds" has some great aviation quotes.

That's called "The ERAU-Prescott Abstinence Program"

I dunno about you guys, but when I talk about flying it really gets my wife hot.

Well... maybe not, but I take it as a good sign when she doesn't go catatonic when I DO talk about flying.

I don't get tired of hearing about airplanes/flying/his day's work but I have to admit that I am absolutely completely fed up with hearing about Delta management, DALPA, and the awful state of the industry in general. Every day he has to launch into a tirade of some sort bitching about something and it's just getting old hearing the same crap day in day out. If it was conversational, or talking about something NEW that's happening that would be different, but it's the same crap, over and over and over and over and over again. Maybe that's her beef? Hearing the same thing over and over again?
(DALPA emphasis added)

Hey it could be worse...DALPA threw us retired old pharts off their forum boards and as an added bonus we got the heave ho off the ALPA forums too. Seems the two are interconnected and ALPA's not going to take the time so we can at least be on their forums. So much for Duaney and his gang!

Not to worry though...back when small "j" johnny malone and his gang of butt boys first dreamed up the idea of restricting the forums (can't have the archive keepers and all that past knowledge come up) an alternative web forum was set up. Called "ygtbsm.com"....

Started out with a few of us retired old pharts and active pilots who were deemed "unclean" by the DALPA shakers and movers but now it's up to about 1600 folks.

Has some interesting perspectives, especially how much the "new" DALPA is conducting business a lot like bill brown and his butt boys who sold out the rank and file in order to feather the nests of his favored gang of thieves!

Other than that I don't have an opinion on the matter.

Slack from wife?

I won't bother with the details but, I could easily have been a pilot with Skywest for a year and half now if I had the support from the wife. But instead I finished college with a BS in Business and still have the dream.

i love to hear about a teachers day

I maybe a bit out of line here, since I am not married or have never been in a relationship longer than 3 months, but here is a simple rule to follow.

Do unto others as you wish them do unto you
or
(this next quote comes from a marriage book)
Do unto your partner as he or she wish you do unto him.

Just because you like listening her talk about teaching, doesn't mean she likes to listen to you talk about aviation. Find a compromise.
Besides, (not to be rude or anything) but can't you find someting else to talk about?
To find interesting conversations I always go find weird and interesting news.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought it.
