Email sent to pilots:

As you may or may not know, there is a $50 payback on those applicants that are hired as a result of your recommendations and their successful completion of a year of employment.

If you have time, please visit www.skywest.com and take a look at our recruitment events that we have scheduled. We would love to see big numbers at those events.

Again, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do in our hiring efforts.

Have a great 2007!

Camielle

If hiring projections continue, there will be 3200+ pilots by the end of 2007.

I heard they are interviewing pilots with less than 1000/100. I'd like to apply but what exactly are the mins?

Haven't heard that as there are plenty with 1000/100 right now. Tried to get a friend on with 2200/80 and they said no until 100 multi.

Re: SkyWest will huge biggest expansion ever in 2007

I refuse to work for SkyWest. No contract...No Union...NO THANK YOU.

For some reason just this second, I started thinking about how the Germans had good expansion in 1941.
Hmm, I wonder why I would think that about Skywest?

I'm still waiting to hear the first "OH MY HECK" on ATL approach! :) :sarcasm:

LAX should be SKW ground. . . not ASA. . . end of story.

Bravo!

ATL should, and always will be ASA turf (no matter who owns ASA). . . not SKW. . .end of story.

Ah turf smurf... I get so tired of people griping about who should be where, and what they should be flying. ASA is in LAX for a very important reason, SkyWest cannot be there due to contractual restrictions. Just as SkyWest has 900s in ATL for an important reason, to send us ASA pilots a message. (Not a reason I like, but still management has reasons for doing it.)

I really think that we would all enjoy our jobs SO much more if we just took a step back, realized that the job really is a good job, and quit complaining so much. I'm about ready to kill the next captain that complains non-stop for a 3 day trip.

ASA in LAX due to SKW contractual obligations. . .

Yup, I follow you there. . . but you know what, SKW was in that contract before taking ASA on board. Now they have to deal with it. And that's fine and dandy.

SKW is in ATL to send a message to pilots. . .

I understand this as well. . . BUT. . . it's a ridiculous reason. To send a message to pilots, lets put a SKW schedule into ATL. Shows the type of leadership qualities that are running wreaklessly through the SKW system. Perhaps someone with a solid mind will realize what is going on and seek to drive change.

Yes, I'm sure the job is a good job. But how much more are we willing to take in the industry until we realize that if we continue to say "...awe but it's still a good job. . . quit whining." we won't see any change towards the other way. . . of improving pay, improving QOL, improving work rules, improving everything that this industry was founded on.

We need less individuals willing to run to the bottom, simply because "...it's still a really good job."

Sorta like when one of the oldtimers says "Quit you're whining. I was only making $14 an hour in the Jetstream!" Then you point out that was like 1987 and show them what inflation has done.....
