SkyWest Pilots: Please VOTE

heck, you all have the opportunity to vote.. if you don't like them, display it by voting a big ol' "hell no". the high number of "hell no" votes or "hell yea" votes will speak volumes in itself!!

How does one go about voting no in an election between two candidates? I ask, because I'd much rather do that then let my vote stand as is.

good question... is there an "I vote for neither" on the card?! hahaha

sorry, not having the background info, i thought the vote was a yea or nay type....at least it sounded that way...point of importance though is to definitely put your vote in regardless!

SAPA's structural problems are part of the reason SkyWest pilots would benefit from legitimate outside representation. The bylaws are woefully inadequate, especially when it comes to electing our leadership, which is part of the reason our own pilots consider SAPA 'Student Government'-style representation. There was no opportunity for a person outside the SAPA structure to run for president, there is no possibility to write-in a candidate, you have only two choices, neither of which are offering a change of direction for SAPA, which many in the pilot group would prefer. Having said all that, I still think voting is an important gesture of unity.

It is the truth. I am pro-SAPA for now. Further, I am pro-anything that helps our pilot group out. More importantly I am Pro[squared] ALPA :)

In fact, I will likely get much more involved soon with either SAPA or ALPA to help out...depending on who is around. Already on the OC, so that is a start.

Anyone need a card? :)

I say it's time for a good old fasion beatdown!:bandit: Send in your ALPA representation cards folks! That's the only way you're going to show management you mean business.:hiya:

Alright. I've gotten a reminder every other day to vote. Don't remember this happening last time (but I was pretty new). Does this mean JB is losing?

SAPA= Skywest Student Council

BTW- I'm not making fun, its the truth and I'll debate anyone of you Pro-SAPA guys on it.

What theme should we have for our "delta connection after dark" event. I was thinking " night under the stars (becuase we're not only too cheap to pay you for doing someone else's job, we're also too cheap to provide shelter from te elements)", but the last captain I flew with wanted "A night to remember (not being paid for menial work but thats ok because your W2 is all that matters and after having 99 credit hour sched forced on you it will be huge). I just hope ME isn't in charge of decorations; he just doesn't have a sense of whimsy.

SAPA Meeting Re-Enacted on E! True Hollywood Stories:

Bang Bang Bang......this meeting will now come to order!

All the good ole' boys(that are waiting for mgmt positions) are huddled in a circle and the former ELECTED president is outside that circle looking in.

First up is where the next meeting will be and what we will discuss there?

Santa Barbara? All in favor? I-I-I-I-I

Ok, now. How about that Zoltar program that we've been discussing at every meeting for years and then deciding to leave it until the next meeting.

Well, we have a winner with a 52% turnout, which was a little better than I actuallly expected. Still sad though, I really wanted to see at least 75% of the group vote.

So congrats to Captain Schleuter and let's move forward :)
