Yeah... ExpressJet get's the bottom feeders since they hire at 600/100.Traditionally, Skywest won't drop below 1,000TT/100ME. Certain regionals can stay picky (Skywest, AWAC, Horizon). Others have to lower to get applicants.

Skywest currently has an LOA with ATP for 800/100... the same as their internal mins.
Word on the street is that they may have already started to consider many applicants with less than 1000/100 however.

Hmmm... have you talked with Camielle? Or Dave Faddis... you know... the Director of Training & Standards? I do admit to being wrong... it is 850TT and not 800TT.They are trying to do away with this "agreement" with ATP flight school, no one I spoke to really knows where it came from, and none of them are happy about it.
I am suprised at that. But I had heard that mins were being lowered too.

However... all Dave has to do is cancel the deal. It's not like ATP is holding them over a barrel or anything. So... what's the problem exactly?

Other than that.... My "word on the street" about them lowering their mins did come from mostly rumor... but it was rumor from this thread here that appeared to have some fact and even the word of current Skywest pilots:

Even Ophir admits to hearing that they were being lowered.

I agree... I've heard the same. But if they are in a "growth" or "need" phase... what will happen... will happen....the bottom line is they are still pretty damn picky on who they hire...
Three questions or comments.
1st The ATP Agreement I thought and I could be wrong states once one reaches 1000/100ME they would be "granted an interview" and then they would continue to instruct to 1000/100me before they could actually start at SKW.
2nd I was not aware that with an internal recommendation one would be hired or could be hired with any lower mins then the published? I thought someone had mention this and before now I've never heard that.
3rd They are getting picky when they need 120 pilots over the next three months? I hadnt heard of SKW telling people without 121/135 experience no based on not having experience. Just as one mention they hire pleanty of guys/girls with just CFI/MEI experience.
Anyone know other wise to any of this?
they were impressed with the philosophy of ATP's flight training and that they like ATP Grads.
