I heard from somone that SkyWest first year pilots are getting a $4 pay increase? Any truth to that??

Yes, and we have a ton of us 'noob' captains sitting around on reserve. A fellow esteemed JC member and I were chatting yesterday and believe something big is in the works. Time will tell.

LOL- dude, you wanna know the funny thing, my new hire roommate and I would do that exact same thing. Sit around and guess as to when the next big scheme would come. We would think there was something big in the works.

It's just a cycle of clowns thinking the same thing. LOL.

We are always running the gamut of short-staffed to over-staffed it is pretty natural. Considering all of the new hires on tap for next year, number of upgrades, and the ever secretive 'we are talking to a new partner' stuff, one has to wonder.

Gotta love the rumots though....here is some of the latest (and one I made up) :)

- 100 RJs for SWA
- RJs for NWA
- RJs for DL out of LAX
- SkyWest buying Comair
- SkyWest buying Ted
- SkyWest buying Jetcareers

Now which one did I make up on the spot? ;)
 
Everybody's talkin' with a new partner right now :)

-Express is in talks with United
-Express is in talks with Northwest
-Delta wants 50 more planes from us
-Branded is getting EMB-195's
-Delta wants 70 seaters from us, and they'll pay for them!
-Lynx is hosed! We're in!
-Didn't you hear the Q400 lost it's certification with the FAA!? Colgan is pwnt and we're not losing any of our Newark lines!
-CHQ can't keep their CRJ's running, we're getting all the CAL flying back!
-ExpressJet is buying Skywest.

The only one that seems to have legs is Delta wanting more planes. We just put another 4 planes out in Salt Lake for them. There's no official base there, but a few planes live there.

Now of those, guess which one I made up :)

I think we're gonna be flying for NASA next on their soon to be unveiled 30 pax shuttle. The great part is that we will not be breaking scope.

If I had followed the proverbial carrot on a stick, I'd still be flying around a Bonanza for the wannabe big shot real estate developer schmuck who swore up and down he was getting a King Air "soon." Not only does he still not have one, but the Bonanza is gone too.

Every company I've ever flown for has dangled that damn carrot.... :crazy:
