Sorry man, the Fatwa was declared last week, too late to turn back! :)

;) I keeed, I keeed

I'm also onboard with Sax and everyone else- this bad blood crap is just past alot of our time.

Some people (as usual) are still preaching the doom and gloom on the ALPA web-boards, yet never came to a point to say what the new rumor was. Well this new rumor answered that.
And yet again this is another reason why i rarerly go to those web-boards-its full of people trolling and such. Sometimes it good for a laugh to see what they are whining about-other times not so much.

I still thought the rumor of us being reduced down to nothing-only to get rid of the super senior lifers, only to be followed by massive recalls to get junior people back on property to bring the whole cost structure down. I heard something like this happened at Mesaba-but i dont know if its true or not-just hearsay.

Word to the Mutha'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I'd be talking to Doug in JFK, people would be like "OMGz! A Comair pilot talking with a Delta guy. Oh Noez!!!"

LOL.

I've yet to meet the man myself- but the other JFK based DL guys seem to be fine. I normally chit chat with the guys when standing in line at the DD for coffee. Its nice to talk with them.

I think more than skywest is going to be involved look for you know who to be involved as well. Either way bad situation

Please, god. Not us. We've already got a big enough mess, and we're already getting hosed in the deal. Colgan's gonna have a contract, and we're still gonna be flappin' in the breeze. But, we still generate cash and have decent performance, so that's all that matters, I guess....

I try to be cordial to everyone, regardless of airline. Besides, there are some at my airline that have done and said some boneheaded stuff and I'd hate to be treated unfairly because of what someone else did.

Wise words. I nod/smile/wave to everyone in uniform and it isn't always returned. Oh well, life goes on :)

Yep. I even do "the nod" when I pass another pilot no matter where they're from. We're all in this BS together.

So this announcement is happening 9/1? We're losing 50 a/c? Takes the fleet down to 48 a/c..I'm def. in the unemployment line then.

EVERY pilot group has had a "facepalm" moment! :)

I'm certainly no better or no worse than anyone else.

Why is it a potential mess? Delta does away with comair, gives the planes to skywest or whoever, another thousand or so of your alpa "brothers" hit the street (many of whom did not work at comair during the strike or support the rjdc), and delta pilots everywhere can rejoice!

You're right. DAL pilots will be doing the Happy Dance :rotfl:

We can all be released from DAL and all the guessing games and whipsawing and find a better job..hopefully.

Which is someone like me. I was still in high school school the Comair strike and when choosing to come here, I had hardly even heard of the strike or what it was about until I got here.

But it would really SUCK big time if I got furloughed from Comair twice within a year. It's stressing me out just thinking about it. The rumors are flying like crazy here. Just yesterday in ops, I heard everything from our MEC is trying to negotiate a flow with DL, to DL wants to get CRJ-1000's and get DCI guys to fly them with a DL senority number. Also heard the worst that we'll be shrunk down to nothing. Again all rumors, but that just tells you how much people are talking around here. I can't get away!

Personally I don't think (or hope) DL wouldn't approve of the costs of recalling 150 pilots, the costs of closing JFK and opening DTW, and then just shut us down. I think SKW buying us might be a good thing as long as us pilots come with it. Hopefully this stuff dies down and I can have fun flying.

I know it would suck and I feel bad for you. Perhaps it'd be good if SKW bought us and took everyone with them. If they plan on taking only 50 planes, then I'm hosed too.

It would be nice to hear something from the pres. himself re Comair's future. Don't even think he knows.
