Hey guys, I know there are a few Skywest pilots on here now. I am looking to jumpseat on the Bro tomorrow. Loads are tight. I was wondering if they are normally weight restricted?

Just trying to see if i should even try it.

thanks

I'd say it is worth a try. Summertime can be harder to get an actual jumpseater, but in most cases this time of year we don't have major weight restriction issues. I have had full boats with someone in the jump. It can be done.

All that said there is a possibility that you could still have some issues if the particular plane has a heavier than average empty weight, and if the bags happen to be extra numerous/heavy on that flight.

Sorry I can't answer the question, but if you fly with a FO as Chris Gray or James Elmer tell em Greg said hey!

Don't know which SkyWest you work for, but where I am it is extremely rare to go out with 30 people, and you'll have to have all the planets lined up in a straight line as well as a captain willing to mess with the bags to be able to sit in the jumpseat with 30 people in the back.

If nobody checked any bags or brought any "oversize" carryons, then yeah, it would work easily, but that's just not how people do things most of the time.
