skywest bridge program

Hi. I am currently finishing up my cfi and my flight school is apart of the skywest bridge program. Is this a good option if I want to become an airline pilot. Thanks.

No... You will have no trouble finding a job by the time you meet the minimums for your ATP. I applied at all the regionals a little over a month ago and I have had interview offers for almost all except a few. The regional airline industry can literally change overnight so don't lock yourself into one place for the next 1.5 to 2 years. That being said, SkyWest is a good airline. I don't think you should have to worry about them not being around in the future.

I know a few who have done it, I don't believe they lock you in to SkyWest... you still have to do a full interview (I know more than a few not get a job offer as well). Everywhere is hiring pretty much anyone with a pulse, I guess it wouldn't hurt if you wanted to work for SKW but don't let some school talk this program up like its the only way to get a regional job.

Just like a flow...don't go locking yourself into someone else's career trajectory plan for YOU.

Control your own career - and if you want to go to SkyWest...pretty darn sure you'll be able to when the time comes.

No handcuffs here.

Good thing about SkyWest program is the mentorship, network, and preference you get. Like someone said above; no hand cuff'n, lol ie not a marriage/contract like most other regional program. Its more like an engagement.... Can be called off by both; even at the wedding w/o penalties or drama.

Any other benefits, someone please chime in? JC is great please to learn and get educated.
