SkyLane Garmin 1000

I am heading out to Independence, the home of Cessna on Tuesday to take delievery of a brand new SkyLane with the G1000 in it. Two of us are flying it back here to SLC. It should be fun. I will try to take some photos and post them up here.

Has anyone else flown the G1000 set up?
 
Haven't flown the G1000, but we just got a new Saratoga II HC with the Avidyne Flight Max Entegra in it...

Had a sight seeing flight in it today and WOW!!! ALL I can say is AMAZING.

I've got 2.9 Hours in it and I think it'll take about 3-4 more until I comfortable with the VFR functions... Then to learn the IFR functions.

I've been flying with and teaching a guy in his brand new Skylane with the G1000. Absolutely amazing that this technology and level of capability is in GA cockpits now. Be prepared for an initially steep learning curve though, as there is a TON of stuff to know about with that panel. If you're familiar with the Garmin 430/530 series, you'll probably pick most of it up pretty quick, as the interfaces are generally the same. Enjoy the trip back, you're gonna love it!
 
I wish I was more of a Garmin guy but we have all Bendix/King KLN94's. I think many of the features are the same but how to get to them are quite different.

So here's some questions;

Does the Altitude tape have a trend vector on it? The kind that indicates where you will be in 4 or 6 seconds, like the RJ?

When going from a flight plan to a Direct to mode, how do you go back to way point sequencing in in the flight plan after your vectors are over?

Once you go miss how do you sequence to your missed hold?

Is TAWS standard on this year's model? I know the C206TU that was just here had it turned on.
