Skydiving Pilot Orlando, FL area

Hello, what are the best skydiving places in the area around 50 miles? I'll be going down there soon and might as well apply personally at a few places. I have my CPL Single checkride coming up and will be working on my CFI-A right afterwards and should be done with it all end of February/beginning March.

Anyone hires fresh and dumb pilots? I'll still be instructing, but would like to be a skydiving pilot as well.

Deland is one of the best places I've jumped. Even when they're slammed I've never waited more than 30 minutes for a lift. Plus the restaurant a few steps away is not too bad. Always lots of people. Good scenery.
But I doubt they're hiring without twin turbine. I've only jumped the Otter when there. I've maybe seen a PAC 750 there but it was always parked. Then again last time I was there was close to 2 years ago.

Not saying it cannot be done with more TT, but DZ's generally like to see diver driving time in a 182/206, then moving on to large turbine equipment. Or an in reverse, like a retired pilot or a long term GA pilot that does it for fun. Most of that is because of insurance though. Regardless, kick down doors, keep at it and get an idea of what they are looking for or you might catch the right place and time.

I believe Skydive AZ (Eloy) will hire lower time pilots (as low as 500TT, but usually 750+) to fly Otters. But that's the other side of the country.

Deland needs like gazillion thousand hours, D license etc.
Palatka maybe, but IIRC they ask for a good bit more hours to fly the van.
One of the ERAU kids drove out to west/southwest of Orlando to drive a 182, not sure what's there. Something small, definitely not Z-hills
 
Get outta FL to find work. Too many flight schools in close proximity equals no entry level pilot positions without knowing the right person and being an Olympic level brown-noser. I landed a 182 diver driver job with 350tt but had to move 2000 miles away from my home in FL. Most single piston Cessna dropzones do some if not all maintenance in house so if you're mechanical then you might be more useful/attractive, certainly helped me. Diverdriver/ dropzone/ JSFirm/climbto350 are all useful resources.

Oh well :D

I'm moving down there in 6 days with the Girlfriend, I guess instructing is the only route. Thanks though! I'll check out Aerosim once I get my CFI to start instructing there, they seem to get a lot of (foreign) students and billable hours.
 
You won't regret instructing...You'll gain more valuable experience teaching then you will flying divers for 1000 plus hours imho.
