SIU question.

Bringing this back to the top...

I'm enrolled in AF199. On average, how long does it take to complete 203 and 204? If I stayed my first summer, when would it be realistic to get the CFI?

Depends on instructor avail. and weather. I would plan on good 2 semesters for AF 203/204. Sometimes less sometimes more. Alot of it depends on how bad your instructor needs the hours and your class schedule. If they're also a check airman then dont plan your pace to be very quick as they have checkrides with other students. But the quality of instruction will usually be better the longer they have been an instructor so its sort of a two way street. Having your PPL when you come in is already a huge leg up to your progress.

Sorry for the late post, I am currently enrolled in 207A currently. Speaking from experience, AF203/204 can go quickly depending on how quickly you knock your solos out and weather. When you get to AF204, make getting your long XC flight knock out ASAP but that is usually what holds students up in 204
