I transferred from ERAU prescott to SIUC at the MT. SAC location. The SIUC program was fantastic. Saved me a ton of money, allowed me to do my flying anywhere I wanted, gave me college credits for all my pilot certificates, fits with a working person's schedule, and they don't skimp on the quality of the program. Many teachers are industry professionals, some classes are taught by professors who fly out from the main campus. Shortly after I started there, a teacher I knew from ERAU taught one of our classes (so much for the "superior education" at the prescott campus). We had one teacher from the local area who wasn't working out too well after the first day of a class, we complained and they immediately removed him and flew the professor out from the campus who had written our textbook.
The degree is not the same as the AS degree at ERAU. The SIUC degree is in Aviation Management, and thank god for that. At the time I didn't care, I just wanted to finish a degree, but after deciding not to go the professional pilot route, the management degree has paid off for me more than I could have imagined. Sure it's still an aviation degree, but it's geared towards airport, maintenance, flight ops, and other management areas.
Do yourself a favor and check it out.
