Single Engine Turbo Prop

Since I like Barons so much I feel ashamed I have to ask this but, what was the change in 1984?

Edit: I couldn't wait and had to look it up.

A big change in panel/system layout on 58/58TC/58P occurred in 1984, including relocating throttle, gear, flap, propeller and mixture controls to industry-standard positions.A big change in panel/system layout on 58/58TC/58P occurred in 1984, including relocating throttle, gear, flap, propeller and mixture controls to industry-standard positions.

Dunno, I kind of like flying the Barons with the throttles in the middle.

:yeahthat:

And for another 100k you could throw in the G900. Boss will think its a G1000.

Why spend 100k on a G900, when you could get the G500/600 with dual 530's installed for much less. Same capability, more redundancy, and probably easier to get done.

This is nothing more than airplane porn! Stop it immediately!

Like my mom always said "A kitten dies everytime you do it" I think the pound has a lot of dead kitties. If I had $1mil to spend I'd get the cougar baron in a heart beat. The baron has a special place in my loins. You know what would be even cooler than a cougar baron? A cougar baron with foxstar winglets! What would you call that? Cougox?

Why wouldn't you get an MU2, A Waco, and a Pitts Model 12?

I don't mind the "backwards" throttle and prop levers, but I can't stand the throw over yoke.

#1 HELZZ NO
#2-3 Those are less than $1mil. :D
4000FPM would just be way to cool in a baron. Everyones jaw would drop when they see that deck angle.

In all seriousness to the O.P. try to find an aircraft that meets your needs trouble free. Honestly these aircraft are all pretty badass, but a lot wouldn't be trouble free with MX. Some will be hard to find parts and mechanics willing to work on them.

This thread really really has turned into a what would we get/airplane porn post and I love it.
I would say as a Baron owner you truly cannot beat them and that crazy cougar conversion is soooo hot. Of course maint may be an issue and who knows what the airframe will do when you strap that much power to it. Though being that it is a beechcraft I am sure it can handle it.
Though I do agree with boris MU-2 is such a sleeper right now it has been recertified 3 times now and it always passes with flying colors the problem was that people with bigger check books than logbooks were buying them and getting themselves into trouble. Hard to go from 150kts to 300+knots without some training though most of that has been fixed with the SFAR now requiring training.
