Single Engine Time building trip!!!

Anyone in the Austin, Texas area interested in splitting gas on a long cross country trip? I am flyin from Austin, Tx- Ames, Iowa. My in-laws live there so it would be either a very very long day of flying up there, having lunch / giving rides to some familiy then turning around to fly back!! Or we could do a overnight.

I do not have hard dates yet so its something if someone is interested in we can work on dates together that work. We would take turns filling up the tanks, and when we return we split the cost to top off the airplane.

This is a good time building trip for those like me needing time.

Airplane:

2003 C-172SP NAV II package. Not a rental plane so it is in very nice condition.

I am going either way alone or splitting the cost, Just figured someone local would like the time/ experience
 
I'd do it just for the adventure if I lived there and didn't have two newborns. Hopefully someone takes you up on it.
 
I'm in DFW, and need to split some time. PM if you're still looking for someone and willing to settle with picking me up a little down the road.

Hey my name is Ryan and I work at the Ames airport in Ames, Iowa. I currently have 130 hours tt. I am currently time building with fellow pilots at the airport but if your ever up in Ames and you want to build some more time doing some safety pilot work let me know. 5156699379
 
If i wasn't in Mass on the wrong side of the Mississippi I'd be all over this. Keep asking their has to be at least one more person like me in somewhat of the right area
 
Well guys dont worry there will be more trips!! Been on quite a few like this and love it. I am thinking Austin, Tx- St. Petersburg, Fl next maybe.
 
I remember seeing, awhile ago - in one of the flying magazines - a reference to a General Aviation computer (web-based?) "Ride Board" similar to what us dinosaurs used to see on college campuses back in the olden days. The web site was meant to facilitate just what the OP was trying to do.......put people together to share costs on GA aircraft flights,. You could either post where you were going and when, if you were the one with the plane; or where you were trying to get a ride from/to, on someone else's aircraft. Does anyone recall this web site, or know of a similar one?
