POSITION INFORMATION
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO SIMULATOR TECHNICIAN I
- To maintain the simulator's and support engineering staff with software and hardware updates to insure the training devices are appropriately configured and meet Alaska Airlines training requirements
- Possess a general understanding of aircraft procedures and systems
- Assist in the clearing of aircrew discrepancies, with guidance from the director and/or engineers
- Must be able to work rotating shift work based on a 24/7 operation in a team environment
- Report all spares issues on the training devices to the director and/or engineers
- Assist in routine maintenance per the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Perform a pre-flight of the training devices prior to the start of each training day
- Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of flight simulator systems as required
- Assist in the development of process and procedures pertaining to simulator maintenance
- Embody the Alaska Spirit and conduct oneself with Professionalism, Integrity, Resourcefulness and Caring
- Other duties as assigned

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO SIMULATOR TECHNICIAN II
- To maintain the simulator's and support engineering staff with software and hardware updates to insure the training devices are appropriately configured and meet Alaska Airlines training requirements
- Possess a general understanding of aircraft procedures
- Must be able to work rotating shift work based on a 24/7 operation in a team environment
- Perform supervised modifications to the simulators including repairing open aircrew discrepancies and configuration updates based on the aircraft /simulator differences
- Evaluate and coordinate all spare parts on the training devices based on obsolescence to ensure adequate stock is maintained
- Perform routine maintenance per the preventative maintenance schedule
- Perform a pre-flight of the training devices prior to the start of each training day
- Troubleshoot and repair flight simulator systems as required
- Initiate the development of process and procedures pertaining to simulator preventative maintenance, hardware and software utilities changes
- Embody the Alaska Spirit and conduct oneself with Professionalism, Integrity, Resourcefulness and Caring
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- An associate's degree in a related industry related discipline preferred
- 2 years of industry experience required
- Demonstrated experience working on simulators required
- Demonstrated experience pertaining to simulator preventative maintenance required
- Demonstrated experience performing preflights required
- Demonstrated experience repairing open aircrew discrepancies and configuration updates required
- General understanding of electronic theory and test equipment including alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) circuits, digital circuits, digital volt meter (DVM), oscilloscope required
- General understanding of the control loading and motion hydraulics: A general understanding of the control loading and motion simulator systems including motion platform operation, load unit operation, hydraulic power unit (HPU) operation required
- General understanding of aircraft systems and concepts of flight including aircraft avionics and aircraft handling required
- Demonstrated familiarity with the use of one of the following: fortran development file (FDF), Honeywell monitor (HMON), real time monitor (RTMON) or computerized testing system (CTS) or debugging tools required
- Ability to use software utilities to test and trouble shoot training devices for general maintenance purposes required
- Ability to read and demonstrate understanding of Simulator / Aircraft data from multiple vendors including wiring diagrams, system diagrams, cable layouts, mechanical layouts, parts lists required
- Must be able to work a varied schedule supporting a 24/7 operation including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
- Minimum age of 18 required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
