Sierra\'s New Plane Video

Hey guys. I just joined the forum last night after coming across it on Google. Looks like you have a great site here.

I am working on a web video for Sierra's website so prospective students can see what it is like to fly at Sierra. The video was shot in our new Cessna 172 using a Canon G1 DVCam. I spent a good deal of time mixing the audio and adding ATC calls and traffic advisories. I only had one flight to get all the footage I needed so I was a bit limited.

It is currently a work in progress so if you have any ideas to make it better let me know. Thanks.

I did not give my permission to use me in the video. I want a cut from the new students. Good job, on the video. Now back to the CRJ, so much more fun. Missed you all in Livermore.

Hey I guess that is you in the left seat. I didn't even notice who that was until you pointed it out.

Sorry man, the new students have no loans yet and are not flying, so your cut of $0 is $0.

Did anyone notice we got a second G1000 172? I didn't, until yesterday I was on the ramp and thought I was seeing double. They sure didn't make nearly as big a deal about the second one comming in as they did the first. I never heard any announcement or anything.

Ya we got another G1000 plane "1112N". I flew the Cessna Factory in Kansas last week to pick it up. It is an exact match to our other plane. Very nice to fly on a cross country flight with all the trend info it provides. About 90% of the 172s leaving the factory are now G1000 equipped.

I will try to post some photos of our trip and the factory if I can figure it out.

With my current pay that $3 is a 15% pay hike. I will be coming by Sierra on Thursday, tell your lazy instructor to get out of there it is making him look old.

And we got 3 new Alaruses today. Not sure if they are for us or for Stockton, but they were on our ramp with the Sierra tail graphic.
 
Until a few months ago they were kit built. They just got certified for production, and they haven't changed anything about them since they were kit planes.

They are surprisingly fun to fly. It takes a couple flights before you see the apeal though, but the more I fly it the more I like it. The disadvantage is it is very loud, and you can feel a lot of vibration in the floor, so make sure you have a good headset and gel soles for your shoes.
