I'm probably commenting ironically...
Hey I have an interview on Friday in El Paso for a Lear FO position. Just was wondering if anyone works/worked there and any advice?

(I have heard its bad pay, borderline equipment, but a great pilot group....was just looking for something since my current gig looks bleak right now)

Thanks

I don't have anything to add, but I've heard all that too. Good luck with your interview. I shot them a resume before but I don't have a current Lear type at the moment.
Let us know how it goes!

thanks for the responses...I'll be down there friday so we'll see how it goes, the CP sounds real nice on the phone so here's to fingers crossed!

(btw, I don't have a lear type or any type for that matter)

Ummm... that sounds like your typical cargo operation. Long hours, borderline equipment, but at least the pay sucks.
Cost of living in KELP area is pretty low so that will may make up for the pay.
I see the pilots in passing from time to time at Cutter and they seem like a good bunch.

Thanks, yup thats what I figured from it, but I'm super stoked to hopefully get a job, much less a Lear gig! (fingers crossed)

Just got here to El Paso, its a bit hotter then Dallas...

I go to El Paso alot on business and can tell you that L&J (the place by the graveyard) is GREAT.
Stay away from Juarez, really dangerous nowadays.

Use to work there before jumping to the other side of the world. For what it's worth I appreciate my time there, was hired as a street captain in the Metro with not that much higher than 135 mins. I wouldn't go back though. It's the type of company that hires lower times guys so they can push them around a little bit more. I still know and keep in contract with a couple guys that work there. Biggest complaint was the schedule, almost no hard days off. The metro was at least a bit predictable compared to the lears. I hear they've been pretty busy though. Any questions hit me up. I really miss flying the metro though, these king air's fly themselves compared to it.

Hey guys i work at cutter ELP, if you guys around let me know my name is Jose (JJ) im too talking to sierra west , maybe setting an interview when chief comes back! :rawk:

there are none posted but I'd say around 135 mins...but I had 1520/108 when I interviewed a month ago...haven't heard a peep from them

Did you interview for FO or Captain?

FO

I saw at least 2 others being interviewed that day not sure of their qualifications or times.

I know I got an interview b/c I met a pilot for them while I was at KGKY flying traffic watch and I gave him my resume(6 months went by before I got a phone call)....networking brosef

Basically they just interview you and if you meet 135 mins and they need captains, you'll be a captain. This isn't the best place to work for mind you, got a buddy that is still working there and recently commented and how he felt like slave labor there. Be prepared to load 2000lbs of seat covers by yourself in Texas heat in full uniform. One of the fun "perks" when working at SW.
