It's a semi-rural area where the job is - it may be doable there (although 30K anywhere isn't a whole lot these days.)

Semi rural? Yeah you could call it that. 115F June thru Oct. Smells like cow • all day and night. The night crop dusting is hella cool to watch, those guys are CRAZT....Let's see...what else...
Oh and you have to cross the river Styx to get there..... Doh!

I would rather live anywhere in Ohio, than in Oakdale....or Manteca or Stockton (nearby "cities").

I'm just passing the job info along, not judging where it's at. I am sure any potential new hires would get to see the town in person while at the interview. FWIW, I really like Sacramento, which is just north of there, even though it has hot summers.
