SIC type rating question

When you go the FSDO to present your application for a SIC only type rating after receiving the aircraft familiarization training outlined in 61.55, is it likely they are going to drill you with questions about the aircraft systems, limitations, etc? Or will they just sign you off if you have the proper endorsement? In other words, do I have to be super prepared for the worst, or is it usually low key?

Low key.

All the Denver FSDO cared about was that everything was spelled correctly and that you had all the paperwork. The "SIC type rating" didn't exist until the FAA got in line with other ICAO countries; I believe it's not even required if you only fly over domestic airspace.

If you're a CFI it's the same experience as renewing your CFI based on check ride signoffs.

Very low key. Present 8710, receive temporary.
