Short commute for ramprat?

I was looking at employment oppurtunities with various airlines and noticed ramp jobs only an hour flight away. Since ramprats get flight bennies would it be worth it to make the 1 hour commute since I'll only be working part-time?

My guess would be that any earnings you make would be offset by your need to rent a room or crashpad of some sort and pay for parking.

Take that aspect out of the equation because I'd only choose a city where I have peeps in so I could crash. I'd pick a city like Phoenix then I could crash at the Taylor household LOL Bad Joke

In all seriousness I have peeps in my Walnut Creek(San Francisco), Phoenix, and San Diego.

I was a ramper at US for over a year at Las Vegas. I eventually moved to Los Angeles, but I kept working at LAS for several months before finally giving it up. It can be done if your commute is short, and there are enough people willing to pickup open time. I would usually drop all my weekday shifts except Friday night, triple up on shifts Saturday, and work a normal Sunday PM shift which gave me enough time to catch the 12am bank back to LA. It was doable because I had a place to crash in Vegas... but I didn't make any money out of it. It was purely for the travel benefits/Vegas fun/Airport fun.
