Shimmy in the 152

What is happening when it does that?

The Plane is trying to decide whether or not it wants to kill you.

Actually it's probably the nose wheel strut. I've encountered it on several different AC I've flown. Write it up in the 'Sqawk' book for MX.

Or only one radio, b/c some jackass broke off the volume knob in the OFF position? I actually had to ask for a freq change to get ATIS.

You mean they can have more than one?

I always have to get the frequency change, but usually just wait to get handed off to the tower and listen to the atis quick like inbetween. The 150s I fly only have one and the 172s I fly only have one that's operable.

And the 150s do like to shake rattle and roll all the way down the runway, like previous posters said, just get a little soft field action going to keep the nosewheel off the ground at higher speeds and you shouldn't have a problem.
