Shame on him

I was in the air taking a lesson with my instructor and fiance right before I was to solo . . . and as we were cruising along, I heard a voice come over the radio telling someone else (as we were to far away to be the plane in question), that they were violating the Washington, DC ADIZ and needed to leave immediately, as the voice over the radio gave the plane the nearest exit from the ADIZ.

It was just interesting to hear how it plays out if someone violates the airspace, I bet his face was red with embarassment.

My nieghbor did it and nothing happend to her. My dad was forced to do it on a Medavac one day. He couldn't get up with them until 10 miles inside because he was low, he was in a Helicopter and the person he was flying had a head injurie and could go higher then 600'. Nothing happend to him either. He just talked to Potomic on the radio and told them why he did it.

NOW, VIOLATE THE TFR AND THATS A DIFERENT QUESTION. I HAVE SEEN BLACKHAWK HELICOPTERS ESCORT SMALL AIRCRAFT INTO MANASSAS ON TWO OCCASIONS FOR VIOALTING THE ADIZ. i THINK POTOMAC TRACON IS WAY TOO BUSY NOW TO FOOL WITH WEEKEND AVIATORS WHO STRAY INTO THE AIRSPACE. THE BLACKHAWKS WERE EARLY ON IN THE PROCESS.

TALK ABOUT BADASS. THEY FOLLOWED THE CESSNA 152 IN ABOUT 20 FEET OFF HIS WING, THEN LANDED RIGHT BEHIND HIM AND TAKIED UP TO THE RAMP. WITH WEAPONS DRAWN AND A SCARED PILOT THEY SORTED IT OUT. THE PLANE WAS STILL THERE 5 HORUS LATER.

I THINK YOU FORGOT TO TURN THE CAPS LOCK OFF...

They can get pretty feisty. I was up one day when some poor guy in a Piper Cub lost his radio and strayed into the ADIZ. Two Blackhawks escorted him on down to Stafford (RMN) and we were told to remain clear of the taxiway. I did some pattern work for about an hour there, and when I left, they were still going over his plane.

I heard from the guys at the FBO there that weekend wasn't one to remember for that pilot. He also owned a floatplane and was teaching someone how to fly it, and the plane tipped over or something.

Anyway, the poor guy had a hell of a weekend, wouldn't you say?
