Job Description


The Boeing global network operates training campuses on six continents, supporting more than 80 full-flight simulators, including advanced technology 787 training suites. Boeing training instructors, highly qualified and knowledgeable, deliver training at Boeing, customer or third party locations around the world.



We have a Senior Pilot - Training Projects position become available at the Boeing Flight Services campus located near Gatwick Airport. This 4,900 square meter facility houses full-flight simulators, and the exclusive 787 training suite.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



Supports the Head of Flight Training/Chief Flying Instructor/CTKI in all aspects of flight training related to the teaching and evaluating of Boeing and airline pilots to fly and operate Boeing airplanes



Such duties will include:-

Ensuring instructor suitability for customer training programs, instructor scheduling issues and instructors pilot currency requirements

Supporting flight training plans for new hire instructors, new hire training and acts as mentor for new hires

Assists in standardisation programmes

Supports the ATO in the development of new and updated courseware through liaison with the ATO’s Training Development specialist

Liaises with and takes responsibility for communication with customers and other Boeing departments to ensure excellent training

Interprets, coordinates, and establishes compliant training programs with CAA/EASA and other national aviation agencies



Conduct flight crew training of customer pilots during the full flight simulator phase of training at local and remote sites

Conduct thorough briefings prior to each training session to provide the training expectations, as well as debriefings and critiques at the end of each training session, to ensure that the customer is aware of their performance. Provide a brief outline of the training events for future sessions.

Evaluate and document the pilots’ performance and progress in the training sessions in the relevant records and reports to allow third party assessment, and report.

Report any customer training problems or conflicts to Flight Training management

Perform administrative duties relative to training such as preparing for the delivery of training, record keeping, monitoring customer progress, training development and maintenance of training programs.

Enable the efficient delivery of training by ensuring that all administrative duties relating to training are arranged and the briefing room and simulator are prepared in readiness for the training session.

Conduct flight crew training and/or examining of customer pilots during the full flight simulator phase of training at local and remote sites



Qualifications


Holds the appropriate EASA/JAA Instructor/Examiner authorisation.

Preferably is or has been a Type Rating Examiner.

Is an SFI/TRI (preferably on 737 or 777/787)

Possess solid experience with a scheduled/non-scheduled jet transport carrier or corporate jet operator including 2000 hours as Pilot in Command, and PIC in jet transport airline service within previous 36 months.

Holds or has held an Airline Transport Pilots Licence with multi-engine rating and a type rating from a recognised EASA signatory country for the program airplane.

Relevant work experience demonstrating the ability to prepare a lesson plan, interpret and present technical material, and independently teach an airplane model

Must be able to speak, understand, read and write English well; be able to communicate clearly and accurately using both verbal and written communications.

Regularly required to work in a confined space of a flight simulator, with a noise level that is usually moderate

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to focus

Requires a range of body motion to perform the following: 1) reach, exert pressure and manipulate the rudder controls/brakes with both feet; 2) reach and manipulate numerous controls while on the flight deck; 3) enter and exit the flight deck of the simulator.

May require occasional international travel
