Sec Threat at DCA? - UA512

The links are good from this end.

Unspecified threat had them isolate UA512 from the terminal building. Pax deplaned. DCA still closed.

EDIT: looks like ground delay, not closure, due to "security."

Apparently this happened yesterday as well to a different flight. From what I’ve gathered from being able to overhear calls to command center, this kind of thing happens WAY more than the news reports

”That was cooooool… Today’s “Road Rules” challenge is training Snooki to run the TSA and take the heat off Duffy at the D.O. TEEEEEEEE…”

It happens so often that when in terminal ops we were told a flight would have to hold by San Francisco Bay on arrival because of a threat, there was no shock or questions just "ok". Philippine Airlines had it happen the most because their culture is so silly that dads and grandpas just can't stop making bomb jokes to FAs and check in agents. There are signs ALL OVER every Filipino airport warning not to make bomb jokes. It happens all the damn time even though you go to jail in the Philippines where even innocent you could go years with no trial and official sentence just wasting away. I think at least 50% of the time I saw it at SFO it was their flight and I never saw it on the news.

It commonly happens when FAs tell pax to put their bags away and some older Filipino will be like "Let me get my bomb out first HAHAHAHA". I've also heard a few times they said "Be careful with that, there is a bomb inside".

I mean not surprising given how many times in customer service settings I asked older Filipinos if the woman with them was their spouse for relevant reasons and like clockwork; "No, this is my mistress".

I love those silly Filipinos though.
