seaplanes-floatplanes

One thing about getting on the step. It's pure power that makes it happen. Nothing aerodynamic about it...pure power. And if you can't get up on the step you can't take off. This has happened to me twice. Old time float pilots say if you can get it up on the step, it will eventually take off if you have enough lake...that's always been my experience.

I own a Cessna 172 seaplane that is currently on wheels. Will sell it for 40K if anyone is interested.

Great Video!

Did he miss the carrier, or was it a short field landing?

Left the wheels down. Floatplanes are like bizarro world, put the gear up to land.

We just got back from Brown's and while hubby was getting his multi, I took a ride in the Cub float plane and doing the "splash and go" was the most fun!! Sure beats a regular touch and go!! The ride was so smooth that I didn't realize we had lifted off the water - gotta do it!!

You selling the floats with it? What are the times on airframe, engine, etc?

Thanks

Wheels and tight EDO2130's go with it. It's VFR, average paint and interior, and 2300 hours on the engine. Runs great and annual was done last January. Just don't fly it enough to keep it and I have a 152 aerobat I wanna keep for a while.
