Does anybody know where there are good seaplane training schools in Florida? (near orlando)

I also understand that your instrument rating will transfer over to instrument/sea as well. is that correct?

Also what should average cost be? around $2,000?

Thanks for input.

On Topic: I did my PPL ASES at jack browns, I regret not waiting until I was ready for the CPL. It was a fun course, very relaxed and quick. Two days, 1100 bucks. Lots of fun, but pretty useless to me. I just did it for fun.

In south Florida check out seaplane-safaris.com

Its run by an FAA examiner with his own Lake amphibian. Nice guy.

I goy my Single Seaplane rating and Mulitengine seaplane rating with Jack Brown's... I would absolutely recommend them. Laid back and faun atmosphere. Flying the cubs is a blast, you buzz gators and stuff, all with the doors open. It was an excellent place. If I lived down there I would bum around that place on my days off. The examiner owns the place and he is really a laid back guy too, extremely nice people... Its a no brainer, go Jack Browns...

Another vote for Jack Brown. It was the most fun I've ever had flying . I don't think in the 5 hours of training we went above 500 feet.

Just watch for the old f-- tooling around KGIF - I was there for a day and twice saw someone flying directly below someone else in the pattern. That's the busiest non-towered field I've ever seen - and I was there on a bad weather day.
