Seaplane training and jobs???

My roommate is interested in getting a seaplane rating and hopefully flying them for work some day. Does anyone have information on good places for training (in florida) and a place to look for seaplane jobs throughout the world?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,
John

If you are looking in the Northeast, I highly recommend Twitchells Seaplane Base in Maine. Worth the travel, I got my seaplane rating from them in 2003. Very experienced, well maintained Cessna 172s. They were featured in the Seaplane Pilot's Association magazine.

Jobs--- I'd look to Alaska. If you want a job in Alaska, training there would probably make it easier. FL is a different environment than AK>

I've got some good friends who flew for Seaborn a while ago. They had a great experience... has it gone downhill since then? Skywest guys, too!

I fell in love with seaplanes this weekend:

I was wondering how one could build up enough time other than just paying out of pocket to get qualified to fly for Kenmore Air or another operation of this type. Anyone know about seaplane hiring?
