Seaplane rated for the CFI checkride?

I am currently working on my CFI and wanted to clear confusion I have before I go for the check ride. I am seaplane rated and it is to my understanding that there is no check ride other than the one for CFI required to instruct in single engine seaplanes. Now my confusion lies on what applies in the CFI PTS when I go take my test. My understanding is that since I plan to take the check ride in a single engine land plane, none of the single engine seaplane task items will be covered on the oral. Is this the case?

Officially yes, Airplane SEL should be the only part of the checkride.

However, since you are already a SES pilot, you should be ready to answer some seaplane questions if the examiner asks.
 
I had a buddy who had a commercial SES and took his CFI initial and got 0 questions regarding anything SES related. I wouldn't stress it.
 
Yeh the CFI rating is for airplane single engine (only). If you are taking it in a land plane then the oral will be land plane based.

You are then able to instruct in seaplanes if you have it on your Comm Cert (most operators want 500 Sea PIC before letting people instruct but this can vary).

Are you sure the examiner is even rated in seaplanes? He might not even know what to ask.

You'll need 15 hours PIC in cat/class (SES) before being able to exercise instructor privileges, the same for PIC in MEL before being able to instruct as MEI.

Thanks to everyone who responded! I had the chance to ask an examiner in passing today and they informed me it should not be covered on the practical test.
 
I'm rated for SES and MES and neither my CFI nor MEI checkride had any seaplane questions.
But I can imagine that a seaplane rated examiner might ask some questions as you legally can instruct in seaplanes when you have the Commercial ratings for it. And the PIC hours of course.
