Seaplane crash. Water in the fuselage maybe??

There had to be something more exciting happening near him than a seaplane launching from choppy water and going straight into an unsustainable angle of attack, the likes of which should only be seen performed by things like F-15s. Had to be a boat full of naked women or something that were distracting him from capturing anything meaningful.

Oh... and pro-tip: Please, for the love of Louis Lumiere, if you are using a digital device to capture moving pictures, do not ever use the damned digital zoom. It always ends up in utter failure and clubbed baby seals.
 
Damn you guys are critics. I'm sure next time a plane suddenly crashes in front of him he'll have his RED digital cinema camera charged, calibrated, and mounted on an appropriate jib.

Eh... I haven't bitched about anything today. This was my outlet. :)

I will, however, at least give the guy props for filming in landscape, as opposed to portrait, mode.

The accident happened in 2010 and the pilot was severely injured. The cause of the crash was that water had accumulated in the fuselage during the night, and the pilot hadn't spent enough time pumping it out before takeoff. The water made the plane tail-heavy and it kept pitching up after takeoff. The pilot then reduced engine power and the plane piched up rapidly before stalling and crashing.
