Hello, Im new to the board here and noticed some of you all are from the Phoenix area. I was wondering if anyone knew any info about CRM Airline Training Center in Scottsdale? Ive been looking into going there and would like to see if anyone knows anything about their operation, good/bad?? Thanks in advance...great board by the way!:rawk: <--that guy is great!

Don't know to much about there flight training department, but the school I used to teach at used there sim for instrument. Everyone there seemed very nice and they seem to run a good operation.

Well I personally know a few people who have gone there and they hated it. Also, they are a 142 school which means a majority (i.e. 90% of so) of ALL your training will be in a simulator.

Hmmm...

Any suggestions on a good school in the PHX area to finish my Comm/ME/CFI? Ive looked into ATP but they arent VA approved(yet, hopefully soon). I need to use my VA bennies to keep the cost down. RAA seems a little pricey.:argue:

Without a doubt..Chandler Air Service at CHD, www.aerobatics.com, planes are a bit ratty but it's the best instruction you'll find. They do a lot of aerobatic teaching and really teach you how to fly the airplane. I did my CFI there and went back for my ATP.

Meh, I found their customer service less than stellar. Of course, I was just a renter, not a student.

I'd plug my old school (did 90% of my training there and taught there the last year) but they aren't approved for VA banefits.

I checked out their site, but I don not believe them to be VA approved. (at least they didnt say anything on their site, usually they do) My PPL instructor went there for some "spin" training I think, he didnt seem to have any problem with them. I trained out of Falcon Executive Aviation at FFZ for my PPL. Theyre a good outfit, just not VA approved. Anyone else have any suggestions? :(

When did you train there? I was an instructor at FEA and, like I said, did 90% of my training there.

Fea

I started there in June 2002. Finished my private there, and never completed my instrument. When were you an instructor there? Im sure we've probably crossed paths at some point. :D

I did my training, in my own aircraft, from Feb 2002 through May 2004. I instructed from 9/2004 through 9/2005.

I remember talking to CRM when I was doing my instrument rating. They wanted a lump sum of money between 20 and 30 grand put in their bank account to start. Unless it is under 5 grand for one rating or so, if I can't pay as I go, then I don't train at that place. If I have 20 or 30 grand, or even if I have to take out a loan for it, that money is staying in my bank account! Not anyone else's!

Yeah

:yeahthat: I would have to agree. My money stays with me until needed. Ill have to get to the bottom of their ops before I go any further. Thanks for the info. Where did you end up doing your training Mavmb?
