SCM/Right Seating /SIC Learjet 60 Initial - Just Completed, Now What?

Hello all:

I just recently finished Lear 60 initial training at Bombardier training center in Dallas, Texas. I've been right seating as a "supporting crewmember" for CAE Simuflite for about 8 months in the Learjet department, and got lucky when I was asked to go across the street to train on the 60 (which CAE will soon be taking ownership of) at Bombardier.

I'm curious if anyone might know of any Lear 60 needs... anywhere, that would be happy to accept a relatively low time pilot, who's looking for that first real start.

Good luck! If you get the job or are out this way I am just south flying for a charter in Richmond if you ever want to get together.

Don't be afraid to call them and charm them a bit. A resume can get walked over really easily, but show interest in the company and sell yourself as how you will profit them, you'll be near the top of the list. Cover letters also for these types of jobs always.

Called and the chief and DO were both out flying. Doesn't look like the position is posted anymore, and after 5 minutes on the phone with the receptionist she told me they were swarmed with resumes, that the position wasn't yet decided on and that they were still sorting through them. I asked if being SIC typed would make me more marketable to them, 135 and all, if I could be hired and possibly just do in house indoc, she was unfamiliar. I'm am really curious now though if my SIC type is useful in if I could pass the school house step and go straight to indoc or the line. Also, the girl on the phone was very friendly, spoke well of the area, and asked for my name to see if my resume had been printed for review. Fingers crossed, we shall see. Thanks for the motivation to call and give that a shot.
 
I'm sure that will help, don't be afraid to call back and try to talked to the chief/do. There's going to be a fine line between pestering and getting your information across. Unfortunetly actually going up there and saying hi is probably the best bet. Good work in selling yourself though, make sure that they know you can help them profit.
