I thought it was a Hughes 300 until I checked the registration. Had no idea that they're now "Schweizer" 269/300 models:

Even crazier is they were Sikorsky S300s for their last few years in production . I know the market is just not there anymore for these helicopters but I always enjoyed flying them.

Agreed. I’ve only got a few hours in them but greatly enjoyed them over the Robby. It felt like a real helicopter. It’s getting near impossible to find parts so I don’t think we will see them around much longer. I’ve seen airworthy ships for sale in the 50k range. Hard to pass up but know the parts are hard to find to keep them flying.

Sikorsky just sold off the 300/333 series to a new company in Ft Worth. The parts and support issues might be coming to an end. Let’s hope for some new production.

That would be AWESOME. My first helicopter ride was when I was less than a year old (before I could remember) and in a older model Schwitzer. My dad owned a helicopter flight school, Shin Aviation at Charlie Brown airport back in the early 70s. He had a few of them he did instruction with. I'd love to be able to own one in the family again. I vaguely remember playing around with them as a kid.

Hell my Vette cost more than some of the airworthy ones I've seen for sale lately.

Yeah we had one in the family for a good while and it just became to much of a hassle to maintain. Back a few years ago I spent a lot of time flying them for personal business and fun! I have burned way more Avgas in the 300 series than all the airplanes I’ve flown combined.

This is good news for current owners!!

Yeah, Sikorsky couldn’t/didn’t want to support them. Glad to see them selling off to somebody who will (hopefully) provide better service. Often times Sikorsky would price themselves out of supporting the bird the same way a mechanic would outprice you for work he doesn’t feel like doing.
